The Secrets of God

As we continue on in the Discipleship Course, we are going to switch gears from dealing with character and the foundational doctrines of Christ.  We are going to begin to take a look at our personal relationship with the Lord.

There are things God desires to make known to us that we don’t yet understand.  He is a god of secrets.

Deut. 29:29  The secret [things belong] unto the LORD our God: but those [things which are] revealed [belong] unto us and to our children for ever, that [we] may do all the words of this law.

God is a god of secrets.

Amos 3:7  Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Psa. 91:1   He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty

There are secrets of God and a secret place of God that many Christians never experience.  It's not because God doesn't want to make Himself known, but it is because many do not search Him out.

There are secrets that God has.  There are things God reveals to us.  And there is a purpose for that revelation.

The word revelation means something that was not seen before that can now be clearly seen.  God is a god of revelation.  God desires to reveal things that you have never seen before.  Those things are God's secrets.

It is God's intention and purpose to show you His secrets.  When you have a revelation of God's secrets, those secrets then belong to you and your children.

Psa. 25:14  The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

God will not reveal His secrets to just anyone.

Once we understand a truth  or principle, we then have the ability to function or operate in that principle.

There are laws in the Kingdom of God just as there are laws of nature.  For example, there is a natural law of gravity.  Once someone can understand the law of gravity, he can use it for his own benefit.  As we understand God's laws, we can benefit from them.

2 Cor. 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.

There are things God will not reveal to heathens or immature Christians; not because God does not love them but because knowledge is power.  If you put power in an immature vessel, he almost always uses that power for destructive purposes.  That is why God takes us from glory to glory.

Isa. 28:13a  But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little.

It is God's intention to reveal His principles to us, line upon line and precept upon precept.  Once a truth is revealed to you, it belongs to you and you can act on it.

It is the same for salvation.  Once you understand that God died for your sins, you can receive of that grace.  You don't have the ability to own or use a revelation until it is revealed to us.

When we understand that God heals the sick, then healing belongs to us.  Then we can walk in that truth and receive our healing.

Many Christians hear the Word and think it is great.  They think it applies to someone else and never learn to own it.  They fail to see that if God has revealed it to them, it belongs to them.

There is a group of people that God reveals His secrets to.

Psa. 25:14  The secret of the LORD [is] with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

The word fear in this scripture means dread or terrifying fear.

Someone who handles explosives must have a fear or sense of awe for the substance they carry.  If they do not, they will handle it carelessly and get hurt.

Psa. 111:10  The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.

The fear of the Lord is not a fearing of coming close to the Lord, but rather having a fear of mishandling the things of God or coming before Him glibly.   It's having such a great respect for God that you don't want to come before Him inappropriately.

Remember, the Old Testament was a type and foreshadow of the way our Christianity is to be.  In the Old Testament, God had a specific way that His people had to approach Him.  He was teaching that there is a right way to approach Him.

Psa. 100:4    Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

God established a pattern for approaching Him.  We are to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.

The Old Testament taught us that we have no right to come before God without appropriating the blood of the sacrifice.  You can not go before the Father bypassing Jesus, the eternal sacrifice.

There is a right way to come before God.  If you try to bypass that, God will not receive you.

God established an order in His kingdom.  His secrets are for those who respect God and the things of God, that they would never dare approach God irreverently.

The secrets of the Lord are for those who know how to deal with God.  There is only one way to get to God and that's through Jesus.

God says there is a way to worship Him; a way to pray; a way to give; a way to approach God.

Prov. 3:32  For the froward [is] abomination to the LORD: but his secret [is] with the righteous.

The secrets of the Lord are for those who pursue God's character.

It is God’s plan and purpose to reveal His secrets to you, because when you see them, you own them.

Isa. 45:3  And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call [thee] by thy name, [am] the God of Israel.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

God will shed light on the hidden places.  In the hidden places there are treasures.

The knowledge acquired between 1900 and 1950 doubled the knowledge known to man up until that time.  From 1950 to 1985 that knowledge was doubled again.  Knowledge is rapidly increasing.

Dan. 12:4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

The reason there is an increase in knowledge is not because we have gotten smarter. There is no scientific evidence that we became smarter.  As a matter of fact, our SAT scores have dropped.

God prophesied in the last days that there would be an increase in knowledge.  Why is it happening?  Because God pulled away the veil of darkness so that we can see things we were never able to see before.

All truth is parallel.  All things in the natural have their origin in the spirit realm.  God is opening our eyes to the spirit world, however it is only for those who fear Him.
